The World Wood Bat Championships is a unique opportunity to showcase Arizona’s 20 best high school players to the most highly scouted amateur baseball tournament in the world.  The tournament features the top 85 teams in the country and is scouted by a majority of the Division 1 colleges and every Major League Baseball team.  These players will be draft eligible in 2018.

This tournament provides Arizona talent needed national exposure as Arizona has only 3 Division 1 colleges (ASU, U of A, and Grand Canyon). High school players need out of state exposure.

In the previous eight years Arizona has produced 27 current professional and 85 division 1 signees.

The World Wood Bat Championships will be held at the Roger Dean Stadium Complex in Jupiter, Florida on October 17-23, 2017

ARIZONA YOUTH BASEBALL

The Arizona Youth Baseball Program (AYB) is the designated charity of the Arizona Major League Alumni (AZMLA). AYB promotes the game of baseball in Arizona, specifically by teaching good sportsmanship and skills of the game through organized clinics. With Corporate Partners, APS's Power Players Program and the Arizona Diamondbacks, AYB conducts more than 20 youth clinics throughout Arizona and makes generous contributions to many worthwhile youth oriented programs.

ALL-STAR CLINIC PROGRAM

T
he Arizona Major League Alumni will continue for the seventeenth year the All-Star Clinic program.  The AZMLA will be conducting fourteen clinics throughout the state at various locations.  (See Events Schedule)

While the primary objective is instructing the finer points of playing baseball to our youth, this forum provides the opportunity to teach life skills.  Emphasis is centered on attitude, education, commitment and the perils of alcohol and drug abuse.

The All-Star Clinic program has also reached out to the Seniors Softball League in the Sun City area.  This league has over 750 participating players.  Instruction, fellowship and sharing ideas are very fulfilling as you experience the joy that these seniors receive.

WORLD WOOD BAT CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Arizona Major League Alumni will again support the Arizona entry into the 2017 World Wood Bat Championships. This will be the ninth year of the AZMLA’S involvement.
